I’ve just heard from a client that NPIS staff have been told earlier today that Annex VIII to CLP has been retained within UK law.
Currently waiting for official confirmation of this, but thought you would like to know as soon as possible.
If correct, this is completely contrary to what we have been led to believe, and it will be interesting to see what the reasons are, whether it’s to do with the Brexit negotiations, or whether there has been a change in the legal interpretations or a drafting problem etc.
Our client has been asked to re-submit all SDSs since 1st January 2021 in the new PCN format, which presumably means sending in an IUCLID6 file in the same way as we do for Northern Ireland.
I would imagine that this issue will mainly affect businesses trading in the GB mainland who have not notified those products for Northern Ireland. As if we aren’t already knee deep in bureaucracy!
Take care of yourself,
